This bench is absolutely beautiful and it fits perfectly in my entryway, I love it!

It took me only one hour to assemble it, all by myself, including un-boxing, checking all parts and reading all the instructions (which I did before even starting to work on the real assembly process). I understand that other people had a hard time putting the bench together, but that seems to be mostly in older reviews, so it means that the producer must have listened to the complaints and improved the instructions, aligned all the pre-drilled holes properly and made a very good work with labeling all parts and hardware. I had absolutely no issue during the assembly process and all parts fitted together quite easily. Only the holes on the bottom of the lid (the ones where you fit the hinges' screws) were not perfectly aligned and, had I followed the original holes, I might have had a slightly asymmetrical positioning of the lid itself. Not enough to make it scratch against the sides, but enough to be visibly off. I prevented that by pre-positioning the lid, sliding it backward and marking the correct position of the central hole, working behind the bench and under the lid, then I started putting the screws in one by one, every time checking the alignment and the perfect closure of the lid before moving to the next screw. A bit long, but effective.

As per the quality and finish of the bench, it looks just awesome, the wood is dark and the texture is rich and luxurious. Very high quality look.

VERY solid bench, well designed, and easy to assemble

I was very satisfied with this purchase. Here are some particulars. First of all it is a well made piece of furniture. Solid construction. Pine wood. As such it is worth noting for those who haven't done a lot of woodworking, this is a very soft wood. It is easy to ding, but it is also very lightweight.

No instructions were sent with the box. however this was easily obtained from their website.
Construction-Pros
VERY precise pre-drilled holes. Everything fits.
Clear instructions
All you need is a screwdriver and key wrench (they include that)
All parts are clearly labeled
Some folks have expressed having some trouble putting this together. Personally, I don't see how. If you can read and have used a screwdriver you'll be fine. If you own a cordless drill you're over qualified to put this together.

Functionality--I was concerned initially because the floor of the storage section was made not out of a pine board, but mdf. However, this mdf rests on a shelf anchored to the sides and it further supported with a center foot that is attached to the center panel inside. The bottom line is the weight bearing capacity of the floor is quite good. I've got STACKS of dvds and cd cases in mine and the floor hasn't sagged one bit. Much more solid than I would have imagined.

I would recommend this purchase for anyone.

Great looking and sturdy

I was looking for a bench for my master bedroom to add to the décor and to use for storing decorative pillows. I originally bought a Linon bench, but had to return it because the color shown was a lot darker than the actual wood. This one showed up two days later and is exactly as shown. I wasn't sure what "tobacco" brown was, but it's got a dark cherry tone to it that is perfect for my room. The bench is made of solid wood except for the bottom (still pretty sturdy) and was pretty easy to put together. We did have a couple of holes that didn't quite line up on the lid, but we just lined it up ourselves and it was fine. We didn't end up using the spring bar because the spring was too heavy...we really had to push hard to get it to close, but the lid stays up after lifting it anyway, so we didn't feel like it was a big deal. Overall, looks awesome in the bedroom.

One package of wood screws was completely missing - I had to run to a hardware store to pick up some of a similar size (not that big of deal, but an inconvenience). The parts that I hated were the cam locks - I don't know where they found those things, but with the screw notches being off-center, it was almost impossible to get them rotated all the way. And I'm no novice to assembling furniture. They need to find a new supplier of those things!

Good quality bench

As far as assemble yourself furniture goes, this had to be one of the best buys I have ever made. After an hour of assembling the solid pine wood parts with cams and wood screws, I have a great looking and functional piece of furniture that is going strong after a year of use. I did notice that some of the predrilled holes were a little poorly done but its nothing you can't solve by re-drilling it. I read some reviewers saying the lid did not fit correctly and I think it is due to some improper labeling. I also thought I had this problem until I flipped the inner support and then everything fit together perfectly. Also, the hinges for the lid are a little difficult to get matched so you will need a second person to support the lid while you secure the screws. There are some weaker paper board slats that slide in to make the inside bottom but as long as you don't put insanely heavy stuff in this bench and stick to just shoes, coats, or blankets then you this will work perfectly. This wood color is pretty accurate from the picture maybe slightly darker and the size is appropriate for an entryway.
