A Bargain! And because the bargain is possible only because all labor in putting this Andirondak chair together is the buyers. The wood is not cut from prime lumber...some flaws, a knot or two. Instructions are adequate but not for the uninitiated. For example, precision with pre-drilled holes is not the best but, common sense should prevail. A pre-drilled hole may be missing but, so what? Simply tap a hole where the screw would go...no split boards. Common sense. When all’s done the chair is solid. I’m buying another one...because of the bargain price!

Didn't realize this was a kit. So got the box and unpacked it.. there are like a million and one pieces and a bag of screws and bits to put it together. I'll have to wait for a friend that's into doing that sort of thing to become available. Not sure if the "kit" was mentioned on the sales page but for those NOT into assembling stuff then this is not for you. It's also raw wood. The chair in the product page looks like it's been stained and shellacked. It IS real wood though so one it's together I'm sure I'll love it. For now it's under my bed waiting on my friend Max to become available.

I bought two chairs. I like them well enough to keep them. The wood is unfinished and rough. One chair went together easily; while the other chair had preset drill holes, that when put together, caused it to look crooked through the back slats. I kinda like the oddity of it. smile... But maybe don't recommend it.

I've bought four of this chair for covered patio. I've put on a layer of polyurethane for protection before assembling. Hopefully it can make the chairs more durable. The pilot hole at the triangular wedge support is very small and it was burst when I assemble the first chair. So, I expanded the pilot hole with a 3/16 drill bit afterward. And, there was no more burst in the rest of the chairs. Overall the chairs are definitely not of high quality, but you got what you paid for. So, I am pretty happy with this purchase.

It’s a little smaller than imagined and was missing a few drilled holes, but I’m a smaller person and knew someone with power tools so it wasn’t that problematic. Added bonus is that this chair folds down into a compact version that’s easy for travel.
