It's quite loud but it's also very powerful so one probably goes with the other and that's what earmuffs are made for. Not that heavy so it can be used overhead if needed. Seems to be a pretty good nailer.

It works fantastic, I have been using nail guns for 35 yr so I am use to the 83a and it is a change . The only thing that is different is the rear load nails. The only reason I bought this nail gun is to use the bigger nails but I like it so much I use it for everything.
