We've just started using this at our new house. The previous owner had one so we thought we would try this brand. However, I wasn't paying attention that it is three SEPARATE pieces, meaning three separate mounts. Inside the house with all of the components next to the console, the internal and external temp and humidity differed. They should have been the same numbers so I'm not sure how accurate this product will be. The "solar" portion isn't waterproof although it's made for outside--that makes no sense to me, that's the one that looks like discs are stacked on top of each other. It has to be mounted in a protected area, preferably on the north side, but all three components need to be in the same area. The wind part that looks more like a helicopter needs to be in full sun facing true south and in an open area. The rain meter needs to be in an open area as well to get an accurate measurement. My other house has a professional Davis Vue, everything is built into one unit and is out in the full sun--it's a great product, but it's three times the price. I wasn't wiling to pay that amount for our secondary house.Read full review

You are required to set up your relative air pressure, with no area database to go by. In my situation there is a significant elevation difference between any known weather station and the mountain I am on. Here is a perfect example: weather-watch dot com back slash smf back slash index. php? topic=28176.0 Take a look and you will see what I mean. Since there is no support from La Crosse and it is so complicated I give it a low rating.

This is an exact replacement for an older weather station. The wind sensor failed after maybe four years so just decided to buy a whole new system. The station has all the features you would want and seems to be accurate. The internet Gateway is a good feature though the iPhone app is just adequate. I do recommend the product.

I purchased two systems at Costco nine years ago. One is at my cabin right on the pacific coast of Wa state. Over the years I’ve only had two failures. One thermo hygro sensor stopped reading the humidity and a rain gauge stopped sending data. The components can be fragile but once properly set up can provide years of service. For accurate readings it's extremely important to place sensors in the correct locations. For example the Temp & humidity sensor if placed in the sun or above pavement in summer months will give crazy hi readings. Likewise in the winter if the sensor is attached too close to your home it's going to sense heat coming thru the walls and give hi readings. The anemometer must be placed high and away from any tree or building that could block the wind. If set up with care this system can give years of service. This is a great deal if only for replacement parts. With the internet gateway connected via Ethernet the system has never failed to send data to the iPhone app. I’m purchasing this set for backup components.Read full review

I set it up and got everything online fast and easy. The only reason I can't give it 5 stars is I have have previous models similar to this and they developed problems a year or so down the road like with the plastic and the communication between the display and the sensors. If you have 3 times the cost of this go ahead and get a better unit. Thanks,
