Out of the box, easy to install even for me, who is not mechanically inclined. Trouble getting it activated. XM guy couldn't understand car VIN I was giving. After we cleared that up needed tech support to guide me through switching from aux mode to 12/V power. Very helpful, task completed immediately. When travelling alone on long trips, it's not easy to switch FM radio signals. Bottom line, after my complaints, is I'm glad I got it. It's is well worth it.

It has great features, superior to any other satellite radio, but is flimsy in its construction. It works perfectly for 6-8 months, but then constantly shorts out and loses antenna connection so you lose all sound. This problem begins slowly, then gets worse and worse until finally you can't stand all the stoppages any more, and you have to throw it out. I have owned five of these and this breakdown has happened every time. I love the features so much I keep buying a new one every year or so. Beware of this model if you don't want to replace it every year!

Upgraded to the Plus mainly for the pause feature so I could listen to baseball games over the radio and sync it with the picture on my TV. However the pause , rewind and forward features are working out great for other reasons. I also use it on my motorcycle and the pause feature works great when talking to someone while riding. It needs an equalizer and it I got it one from FIO. Makes all the difference in sound clarity no matter where I use it from my garage, shed, motorcycle, car or office. Have been an XM customer pre merger times and my first radio was a Roady and have had several radios since then and this is the best. They do not fool around with different connectors or antennas so those items I have from the past will work on the Plus. Love it.
