This is a replacement of the outdoor sensor that came with my clock. It worked the way it should but the range is not as good as it was stated in the manuel. I have a stucco house and it lost its connection to the clock after two weeks when there were three external walls between them (50 ft distance). I have to move the sensor to a new location where the straight line between them only passed through one external wall (40 ft distance).

The one I received is reading about 4 degrees too cold. I have three other thermometers that all read about the same. This one reads about 4 degrees too cold. I believe Lacrosse says if the thermometer reads +/- 5 degrees that is good enough. So I guess that is good enough. It's disappointing because Lacrosse is a leader in this field. My last sensor lasted several years. This is a very good value, but if you want a more accurate reading it might be wise to upgrade to a better unit. Tip: Place the unit in a protected location that does not get direct sun or rain. The North side of a structure that is protected from the rain is good.

My son-in-law installed it , after a bit of batteries in and batteries out , the base unit in the house began to display outdoor temperature. I can not complain at about the device. The original failed because one of the dogs noticed it dislodged from the garage wall. And the dog put a bit too much teeth pressure on it. Perhaps a better mounting mechanism for the unit would have helped . There was some issue two years ago with the base unit displaying rocky mountain time . We live in Eastern Standard time . I noticed this year , the base unit time display was correct for Ontario. Will give it another five years or so , before we know for sure. The remote is under the garage eve , as long as the dogs do not jump and take it.

The TX37U-IT temperature transmitter works fine and is a good value but this is the second time we've had to replace this transmitter. The unit being outside and needing to have some airflow into it to enable temperature readings, means that it is not water proof. The circuit board gets wet and the traces, which appear to be made of unusually thin copper foil, corrode thru and cause open circuits. The circuitry, except for the thermistor, should all be conformally coated to prevent this from occurring.

These are finicky in general. You may have to fuss a lot before figuring out just how to get it to work properly. The previous unit I was using became unreliable. The frequency has to match exactly and distances and obstructions can interrupt transmissions. Resetting is a bit troublesome. This unit, however, works alright and triggers two clocks. A third clock does not register. It could be the third clock is at fault.
