This is the first "diet" book I've read that actually explains what goes on in the gut and explains why some foods are good and some bad depending on their effect in the gut and on the microbiome. The eating plan is quite restrictive and thus for some people it won't be sustainable. While my own weight loss on this plan has been partial, the eating plan has stabilized my weight, and stopped the constant slow weight gain.
