This is my first REAL smartphone (I'm upgrading from baby's first smartphone, an LG "Lucky") so I can't draw on past smartphone experiences. However, I am perfectly happy with it & I love it so much. I have zero regrets. I spent a lot of time researching phones before making a purchase and found this one had more features for lower comparative cost. I'd looked into a Samsung S5, which, at the time I'm posting this, was equivalent in price, but the HTC 10 Evo has more RAM and a bigger internal storage and a newer Android version. It didn't come with many junk apps either, although I made the mistake of downloading Zoe (a video editor by HTC) and now I can't uninstall it. It's played all the games I downloaded so far without issue. It also works fine with Tracfone's BYOP. Oh, be careful opening the Sim card slot. You have to push a paperclip into the hole and keep pushing until it pops the tray open. I mistakenly thought you were supposed to hook and pull, which damaged the slot's cover a little bit. The instructions on changing the sim card were just pictures with no words (in an attempt to be multinational I suppose), so I didn't know. And the phone didn't come with a tool to open the slot with (a paperclip worked fine though) The big downside is the lack of headphones jack. I didn't realize this until after I'd purchased it. The phone did come with an adapter for the USB slot but then you can't charge the phone and use the headphones at the same time. This might be a dealbreaker for some people who listen to music with their phone. Other than that it's been great. Battery drains faster than my old phone but I honestly don't know if that's par for the course for smartphones.Read full review

After charging device and using for first time it became very hot within minutes of use, this is not normal. Battery drained within 6 hours of use. Then my phone conpletly shut down in my purse with no added pressure or heat. I am recently disabled and was shocked when all I seen was HTC on screen and it would not respond until I rebooted system. I have it set to screen sleep while not in use.

HTC is a good phone got one years ago under Metro PCS but not as great as Samsung phone, love it because it has that loud volume sound when watching youtube compared to apple phones. Fast internet connection, good picture quality. The only downside I can tell is the battery life, so I would suggest turn on the battery saving power on and at the same time turn on the extreme battery power saver. The phone will last 3 days on standy by time with minimal phone call and data usage. All I can say is the phone is good for your budget.

For me, phones have gotten like PCs did years back. I do not need the latest greatest mega expensive device, a cheaper older one does all I need. Nice screen, good build quality, water resistant, expandable memory (I have a large MP3 collection so this is a must for me). Performance is great for the light web surfing, email and google maps I use it for. Oh and the custom tuned earbuds are not just a gimmick, they sound really good. Note that mine came with a DAC headphone adapter, I wasn't sure it would.
